Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi Islands

Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sapi are part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, located just offshore Kota Kinabalu town. These three islands, especially the Manukan Island are among the 'must visit' islands by travellers and tourists visiting KK. They are rich with marine lives and are just perfect for family snorkeling activities. They are simply favorites among children! In fact, many scuba operators conduct their certification activities and training here before the visitors can dive deeper into the wonder of Sipadan, Mabul and Ligitan in Semporna.

Activities
Snorkling, Family Picnics, Swimming, BBQ, Boat Ridings, Parasailing

This is the perfect place to bring your family and groups to enjoy the soft introduction to the world of marine lives. At these islands, you can snorkel all day round while enjoying the warm and sunny picnic along the white sandy beaches. If you enjoy underwater photography, do not forget to bring your water-proof cameras along to capture all those schools of colourful fishes and other corals beneath the crystal clear water of these islands.

Charges and How To Get There

To get there, all visitors should use the Jesselton Point jetty where all the major boat operators are located. Jesselton Point is in the middle of KK town and you'll have no trouble at all finding it. The boat fees to any of these islands are around $17 (return trips), plus park and jetty fees. You can also hire goggles from your boat operators to maximize your snorkeling experiences.

Jesselton Points

Most boats apply the full-and-go policy. There are smaller (8 passengers) and larger boats (12 passengers). You and the rest of the passengers would have to mutually set the return hour to KK jetty with the boatmen. The boatmen will pick you up at the set time. Normally, spending 3 to 4 hours on the islands are good enough.

If you travel by large groups, you can hire the entire boat and can bargain for more flexible return time, goggles and charges.

Other Info / Tips
  • You are allowed to feed the fishes, as long as they are not harmful to them. Remember, you are in the Sabah Marine Parks territory, and it is our responsible to care for the precious marine lives. The fishes and the corals are not take-home souvenirs ;)
  • If you plan to stay longer, you can buy your own meals before going to the islands, just in case.
  • Parasailing is another interesting activity you can enjoy on the islands. Ask your boat operators for more details.
  • You can also use other private jetties such as provided by the seaside hotels which offer similar packages.
How we can help you

We arrange for your transport from your hotels to the Jesselton Point jetty and services and transport you back from the jetty to your hotels. Our drivers can take care for your belongings and are always in standby at the KK jetty to pick you up. Most of our customers who spend their last touring days on the islands find our services very securing and useful since most of them are already checked-out of their hotels. Besides, you do not want to go back your hotels walking wet and in your swimming suits in the middle of the busy town ;)
